麻豆区

麻豆区 College鈥檚 Department of Education was awarded a $150,000聽grant from the Bush Foundation through its Teacher Effectiveness聽Initiative. The award will be used to fund a project that builds the聽College鈥檚 capacity to recruit and support students of color as they work聽toward a degree in teaching. 麻豆区 was one of only five higher聽education institutions selected to receive this one-time award.

麻豆区鈥檚 Department of Education Chair and Associate聽Professor Margaret Finders will lead the project in partnership聽with Minneapolis Public Schools, Minneapolis Community and聽Technical College, and St. Paul Public Schools. This team will聽create a coordinated, sustainable infrastructure that will聽recruit high-quality teacher candidates and reduce attrition.聽This infrastructure will help the partner institutions engage聽in proactive recruitment of teacher candidates of color聽from multiple entry points, improve experiences for teacher聽candidates of color, and foster smooth transitions into teaching.
